LouiSimone Guirandou Gallery is pleased to take part in the 2nd Edition of Africa Foto Fair. The Gallery is celebrating Madagascar by presenting four photographers from the "Red Island".
Initiated by the world-renowned Ethiopian photographer Aida Muluneh, the second edition of AFRICA FOTO FAIR will be launched on November 5th, 2023, at the MuCAT (Musée des Cultures Contemporaines Adama TOUNGARA).
This month-long event includes exhibitions, portfolio reviews, panel discussions, and virtual talks, offering an enthralling journey into the world of photography. With the participation of 52 photographers from 24 countries, the event will showcase the works of both African and international photographers, allowing the audience to explore the artistry of emerging and
renowned photographers in the worlds of photojournalism and fine art photography. In addition to the MuCAT launch, this year's featured country will profile Madagascar with a special collection showcasing at the LouiSimone Guirandou Gallery. This collection adds another dimension to the
event, providing a unique opportunity to experience a diverse array of photographic artistry from the country.
Initially established in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, as Addis Foto Fest in 2010, the Africa Foto Fair is an extension of a cultural event that strives to foster connections between East and West Africa. As a cultural event, the primary objective of the festival is to promote and support emerging talents from
across Africa. Therefore, through the global exchange of images, the festival inspires, nurtures, and fosters a deeper understanding of photography from Africa and around the world. In this way, AFF serves as a platform to connect Africa to the world and the world to Africa through images.
